    P38 Alternator Charging Voltage 14.8V

    Hi all,
If an alternator was made to deliver 14.8v, will it affect/deteriorate/malfunction/destroy the P48 Instrumentation and functions?
If no harm will happen, how can I achieve 14.8 volts on my Bosch alternator 0 123 520 022 which produces 14.4 volts.
Some have fitted Mobiletron VR-VW010. But I am not sure if it will fit.
An open debate. Hope to hear all reasons and suggestions.

I guess the first question would be...."why?"

Hi LazBaz, and while 14.8v will NOT harm your vehicle's electrics or electronics, on a long drive, it will cook your battery.

14.4v is the perfect operating voltage for any vehicle.
