    Thor Bosch Alternator Regulator

    Hi Guys

any ideas where to puchase? seached hi and lo but no go.

Ive had two failures previously, was able to fix by cleaning/releasing the brushes, it would be good to carry a spare.

Dunno about local sources, but here's at least something to help.

    Alternatorbrush.com LINK

note that it's a different part No., but they state 'replaces Bosch <your part number>'
And also note that they list it as 14.6v too.

If you click on the discovery 2 4.0L alternator brushes link, just under the the vehicle selector area box, it will take you to their page with all the bits they sell for the disco motor.
They do have a refurb kit(bearings slip rings, etc.) for just a few dollars more, which I reckon would be a better overall option.

I emailed them re postage, I asked for a quote on two rebuild kits to Melb, Aus.
They quoted me "~$40" ... I assume they used USD, as I wouldn't expect they'd convert to AUD, that was about early to pre pandemic. And with the recent devaluation of the Aussie Peso .. it all adds up.

also note, I think these alternatorbrush mob, also operate under the name maniacelectrics, they seem to have similar/same location details, and sell pretty much exact same stuff.
So it may have been maniaelectrics I contacted(sorry can't locate the email to confirm) ... but if you search maniacelectics and browse their site, same stuff, same prices.

    Hope that helps a bit.
    Arthur.

Ah! ... posted then found the email.

T'was a while ago and memory cells all depleted since, but found the email. It was from maniac, but he approximated "about $40", but then directed me to his alternatorbrush site, where it's easier to order from overseas to get an actual freight costing.
So forget the maniac site I mentioned('coz were from overseas).

Add your bits/pieces in the alternatorbrush site, then some info, and continue to shipping .. before actual purchasing and committing payment and personal data.

Damned! ... ended up USD $85 for three rebuild kits for me. But a single rebuild kit ends up costing USD$45.
