    Under bonnet dual battery

    Hi Guys,

My p38 is on springs, so compressor etc is removed. I have got an agm battery ready and am planning on mounting it in the compressors place. I am really not a fan of the battery in the rear of vehicle. Was wondering if anyone mounted a battery there? If so do they have any tips in doing so or do they regret doing it. Seems pretty straight forward make a bracket to fit the 4 bolts used for the compressor. I am slightly worried about the weight though. Thoughts?

    Thanks
    Lex

    mate,

if you have a petrol P38 (I believe you do since I read somewhere you guys never got the diesel?) it gets VERY hot under the bonnet. The factory battery is placed in front in it's own isolated box with a reason, cool air. Most batteries do not like the excessive heat that can occur on that location so I would keep an eye out for that, other than that, it should work fine

    Cheers,

If you put the battery in the back left hand side (remove the sub woofer and make up a bracket on top of the CD stacker) it will stay out of sight as well as cool. It is also well positioned for auxiliary items usually accessed from the back of the car.
