air suspension problems
Hi Folks,
I have been having EAS problems of late. On the way home from a trip down South the air bags started going down. After a while I found a place to pull off the highway and bypass the the control system and inflated the air bags directly to get home. On investigation I found a loose air hose under the bonnet. Easy fixed, but then the air tank would not hold air. The air bags were fine. Just as soon as I turned the motor off the diaphragm would open and dump all the air in the tank. I pulled the valve block and checked every thing in there and it looked fine. I did read somewhere that the diaphragm is held closed by the air pressure held in the line from the compressor to the valve block. I did replace the little O ring under the reed valve. I fitted a gauge in the line from the compressor and the valve block and it was holding pressure, but when I put it back to the vehicle it would dump all the air from the tank. So I got a inline non return valve and put it in the line, and it still won't hold the tank pressure. So at that point I gave up and went to the shed to work on another project. I will try again tomorrow. Does anyone have any ideas of something that I am missing.
Thanks for any advice you can give me, Regards, Alan

Did you reconnect the driver pack?
Those things can go wrong and perhaps it hold a valve open that dumps the air. Just thinking out loud here.

air suspension problems
Hi Prelude, Thanks for your reply. When you are having air suspension problems all help is appreciated. I have checked the valve block and found the little metal cover that goes over the diaphragm is missing. I checked my 2 spare valve blocks and the metal covers are missing from them as well. So I spent the afternoon machining one up on the lathe. I will put it back on tomorrow and see if that fixes it. I am not very confident though, as the air suspension was working before and it just started playing up. But I am running out of ideas.
Regards,
Alan

air suspension problems
Hi Folks, I have found a problem with one of the NRV, and apparently this could cause this cause the problem. I managed to find another valve block and it has fixed my problems. But I am going to fix my original valve block so I will have a spare.
Regards, Alan
