    shocks

To test the shock adsorbers on a vehicle I would have pressed down on each corner of the car and then watched to see how fast it returned to steady.

Any suggestions on how you check the shocks on a vehicle with air suspension?

All that does is a rough check of the low speed bleed circuit.

You really need to take the vehicle for a drive to assess its performance over a series of bumps, dips, cornering, etc, or put the dampers on a dyno to work out if they are OK or not, and only a damper dyno will tell you if they've gone off a little or not.
