Cargo bikes, are they coming back?
Cargo bikes undergoing renaissance in Germany as companies battle congestion, pollution to move freight
From the article:
Logistics company UPS is on board and is using cargo bikes for deliveries in six German cities.
Spokesman Lars Purkarthofer says the cost is similar to trucks, but cargo bikes come into their own in the "last mile" of delivery.
"This is back to our roots, a concept we recently deployed in order to address congestion issues in town centres and take our part in terms of responsibility for sustainable practices," he said.

Interesting idea, and I can see a few odd places where one of those bikes would be quite useful, apart from the courier idea.

Saw quite a few in Toronto a few weeks back. Some were used for freight and others for food delivery. A good idea that should be encouraged.

Starting to get a few food bikes in Perth I've seen a fresh juice bike doing the rounds and I think there's a few coffee bikes around Perth as well.
