I have a Yakima SpareTime.
Works well.
Anybody have one?
Chasing feedback on them........
Looking to fit one to a Rijidij Spare Wheel Carrier......we need the bike carrier to open with the rear door of the defer
The other option is a shingleback carrier, two bike version
I have a Yakima SpareTime.
Works well.
Oh, spare time is the dangle in the breeze type
Dangle in the breeze type. Haven't seen a stick up type around that sits on a spare tyre.
There is a swing away Thule stick up - basically you swing away the bike rack then open the door
That's why the gripsport has my attention as it can mount to the centre of the spare wheel and fully supports the two bikes.
I will have a swing away spare wheel carrier so that counts out the Thule.
Oh, we also need to open the door from the inside i.e. With out hopping out of the car to first open a spare wheel carrier or other swing away attachment.
Why do you need a stick up type mount? Just curious more than anything. Is it because of a particular suspension design?
Just don't want the bikes swaying back for forth.....want them nice and solid as our two high end bikes will follow us around on our travels.
I need something that can carry five bikes (I'll run) - and swings away from the door.
