There was a cycle race in Brisbane today ( Tour de Brisbane), I was hoping to take my 80" to the Samford Show car show , would have been 1st car event I have been able to go to since September 2019 due to Covid. The Centenary Hwy & Western Freeway were closed from 5am to 9.30am , I needed to be at show between 9am & 9.30. There was no way I was going to leave home before 5am then sit around till 9am in the cold waiting for the gates to open, I could have taken another way but this would have added an hour or more to the usually trip. There is a perfectly good multi million bikeway running beside these roads but no they have to close the roads. So stayed home & watched the boring V8's with the two Red Bull cars way out front from the start & lapping half the field by the end of the race .

Ben O'Connor finished 4th overall which is the best finish by an Aussie on debut. Tadej Pogocar became the youngest ever to successfully defend his title at the TDF, today's yougnsters are really talented.

The next round of cycling on TV will be the Olympics, on all the Ch 7 channels, so far screening times have been hard to pin down but hopefully most of it will be live or only slightly delayed. Here is a link to the Olympic schedule in (AEST) Aus Eastern Std Time. Olympics cycling schedule in Australian time - Tokyo 2021 Games (theroar.com.au) which is only 1hr after local Tokyo time.

Nope, but we're heavily invested in XCO, so Bec's race is at the top of my viewing list, the men's as well but I don't think Dan will get much air time.
And the Team Pursuit on the track is pure joy to watch.

Very tough gig for Ritchie, Durbo, Gigantes and Spratt. But the Aussie women look strong.

Olympic men’s and women’s road start list.

Quote of the day: Ch 7 Mens Road Race Commenator at 150km to go, “the riders goal is to represent their country and stay out the front for as long as possible.” …(and presumably to cross the finish line first I suppose).

👍🏻 I was at TDF in 2011 too …so fortunate to be there to see Cadel win!! Let's hope Ritchie and Durbo can put in a blinder in the Olympic TT!

Good luck to your daughter! 🥇
