    Battery Box project

    Greetings All
Ive put this one here, if its in the wrong place I hope a kind moderator will gently rebuke me and put it in the right spot

I was playing around in the "useful box" (too much Playschool but it does keep miss 7yo happy ) and noticed apart from a lot of crap, there was everything I needed to make my own 100Ah battery box. The attached is a MkI design. Funnily enough all I need is the container (and an isolator.)

Its based on a 850cc amp 100Ah Ca battery that came out of the D2. I just had the starter motor and battery replaced.
I was thinking a chequerplate box (ventilated) and the guy next door is a sparkie for the 240V.

Its not going to be light but I want an element of portability. It probably doest need 5 12v outlets but there are plenty of toys i can think of to utilise the connections. One is for the CPAP. I have sleep aponea and need a machine to breathe at night but I like getting away. It draws 3Ah so its a bugger on little 20 and 30 Ah batteries. It has its own 12V regulated adaptor so I only need to plug in an forget. The 30 amper give about 2 night. Not much use when you rock up to Innaminica for three weeks like we did last July.

Concept is, Id like to plonk this in/out the tent hook up the solar and when need be chuck in the back of the Disco drive a couple of hours to rejuice and ultimately when we pass through civilization plug into the 240V and head off the next day or so ish is the plan.

Be happy to be guided by much cleverer minds. Its all fused and the like but theres always a better way to build a mouse trap.

    cheers
    mat
