I have started the box work in the back, our bed will be at winow height, awfully cramped if not fitting the Gull wing window panel, raised bed will be maximising under bed stowage. I am using 12 mm ply, it is heavy but it was the thinnest with the structural integrity to accommodate two light adults sleeping on it.

Often seen the bed at the height of the rear wheel boxes (abt 9" up from the floor) with storage under that (rear & side) - it will be interesting to hear how you find the restricted headroom with the bed higher than that (don't forget to add the mattress height - and it will be a bit of a climb).

Certainly get the valve clearances checked - if too great it can restrict power somewhat.

FWIW I am of the opinion that bush replacement is best done by a LR mechanic with a 10+ton press - particularly if that "A" frame balljoint needs replacement - budget around $!k for labour & gen parts if a workshop does the whole lot - but it certainly improves handling and comfort and the job will last another 200000+km

Otherwise you could see if it heats up too much on a long uphill run and if so, have the radiator rodded (abt $100) and replace the thermostat & gasket (also about $100) - otherwise carry them + hoses + belts as spares. One of the low coolant warning kits as advertised on here could be useful. If there's no other obvious problems that's about it - I'll be surprised if others do not have additional advice.

Yeah that's where we had our old bed. it was wonderful and roomy but space was an issue and since we are putting the slide out fridge behind the drivers seat we opted for the raised bed height. The climb is not a problem (when sober) as we are both young fit and nimble though lack of head room is a bitch but we will more than likely sleep under our awning in the mozzie net a lot.

bit of a tidy up, we will have the stove on a pull out at the back so this will be easier to clean also. I got rid of the rear wiper and washer, the wiring had been chopped in the dash years ago so it was just weight bolted to the truck.

More luxury, some how I turned this into THIS?

The fridge slide. I got some very good quality draw slides and mounted them flat on their back on a piece of ply. I ran 5/8 bolts through the runners,ply and floor of the landy, the ply not only gives added strength, it gives clearance to slide out over the door rubber. Mounting the runners on their back reduces their load capacity somewhat though they don't need to be pulled to full extension to get the fridge out so will do just fine.

Nice work, I was going to do something like your idea but to be able to converting the 110 back to standard when not travelling.
After finding out that if I removed the seats I have to change the compliance plate as well I just stoped the project.

Are you for real? Mine was a nine seater though I had it blue slipped for five. I would not think you'd have to change anything unless you are going to ADD seats or seat belts. whos gonna care if you take seats out? It's putting them in unregulated that some one is gonna kick a stink about.

This may cause me some great deal of issue as I will need to rego it in another state as I'm traveling. Now that I think of it, how can you rego a five seater if the rear seats and restraints aren't there? oh well another hurdle to jump when I get to it!
