I am trying to do this on my Defender, but am finding that pin 5 on my switch seems not to "switch" at all. Any suggestions? I have wired as follows -

Pin 1 - S
Pin 2 - dash illumination
Pin 3 - nothing
Pin 4 - earth
Pin 5 - L1
Any ideas?
