    CAD for trailer canopy design

Hi folks. Just bought this trailer its a beast. I need to cover the cage an build an extension out the front that follows the draw bar. For 2 reasons. extra dry storage and extra 2 inches so I can sleep in it. Have not decided to clad it with light Checker plate or gal sheet.

I am after a simple cad program that I can use on the Mac to do the plans as I only want to do this once.

    Cheers Matt ImageUploadedByTapatalk1347344137.011753.jpg

    Hi Matt,
You could try Draft Sight, it's a freeware CAD that runs on Mac as well as Linux and Windows.

I am looking ally sheet but I need wider then1200 wide. I haven't been into the steel joint yet but I would like to use checker plate. I also looked at gal sheet and then paint it but I have the same issue. I'll find my measurements.

The top is 1460x1870 and the back door is going to be 1430 x1460. They don't fit into a standard sheet.

I used ally sheeting on my camper box, the roof section is 1950 x 1480 the joint is fully supported and the sheets are butted together. our camper has now done 40000 K's with no problems with that joint, if bonded properly.
If you need any tips just PM me.
    Good luck

Even the thinest checkerplate will make the canopy too heavy.
