Nice one. They make a big difference. Just a thought, would it be easier to put the mulgo rails onto the seat base whilst it's out, then bolt it all back into the car as one piece?
Edit: actually it might make it harder to get rear bolts in then.
So I won myself a set of Mulgo's seat extension rails fro a defender at the 2013 Defender day out (was a great day with great sponsors)
so I jumped onto Mulgo's site looking for some more detailed instructions (I'm pretty useless when it comes to spanners and things) and couldn't find anything more than the single sheet instructions that came with them. Which I guess is enough to go on.
Still thought It may help others who are just as un-skilled as myself with the tools.
here is a 'before' photo you can see the seat at its most far back possition, this leaves my knee stuck in the door and my other knee stuck in the hand brake.
first step is logical, remove the seat base,
you can see the factory spacers that are under the seat rails.
Instructions say you need one 10mm spanner and two 13mm spanners.
So I grabbed these from the tool box, only to find the 10mm spanner next to useless and went for a 10mm socket on the ratchet.
the factory bolts came out nice and easy with the ratchet, I took the front out first, after doing this I found it my have been easier to do the rear first as I had trouble sliding the seat forwards once the front bolts were out.
It was a bit awkward getting the rear bolts out in the 90 through the door but they came out quick enough.
once the chair is out I checked the angle on the rails, the instructions say to leave a single spacer under the rails, The angle this put the rails on seemed strange to me so I opted to leave all the front spacers in and remove one from each side on the read, this put the top of the new rail level (now after fitting i think I would remove the last rear spacer and add it to the front to give a more comfortable angle to the seat base)
once the new rails were bolted in I put the seat back in, this time tackling the rear bolts first, to do this I got into the back of the car as I couldnt get to them through the drivers door anymore.
The instructions don't say which way up to put the bolts(its probably logical to some but again, things with tools aren't my thing, electronics are)
So i put a washers on two bolts, and dropped them through the holes and then tightened the bolts up to 'semi tight' so the rails could still move a little
I then rolled the seat back and went to put the front bolts in, the nut and washer was a tight fit under the front rail, making me wonder if the bolt should bave gone in from underneath, but i managed to get them in and then do the front bolts up and then tighten the back up all the way.
then throw the seat base back on and test it out!
what a huge difference it makes! Its so much more comfortable and I actually need to roll forward a little from the most far back position.
I could not recommend these more, that are brilliant, the quality is brilliant and the result brilliant, well worth the money(yes I know I won mine but will be buying a set for the passenger side asap!)

I did consider doing it that way, which would result in you definitely needing the spanners as a ratchet would not fit. other people probably have a much better way of doing these things than I do, all I know is I need to raise the front of the seat more, I will take the left over spacer from the rear and put this in the front, might need longer bolts though.
the angle of the seat base gets changed dramatically with the fitting of these rails, I find I prefer the front higher than the back (stock position) if you follow the instructions you end up with a almost level seat top, so I will adjust by another spacer int he front, and maybe remove the last spacer in the back and put in a thin washer instead to try and make the angle more to my taste.

Yer I don't like feeling like the seat is trying to kick me out either haha
