great trip and project steve
jc
A while back I decided that my next project would be a single (extra) cab ute with turbo'd 4bd1 and something along the lines of a DIY removable camping pod with rooftop tent.
After a couple of false starts in the preceding year, last weekend my better half and I jumped in the trusty County and headed up to Tangus89's place to pick up a 1988 120"
Some of you might recognise "The Wolf" from Tangus' previous thread http://www.aulro.com/afvb/isuzu-land...110-4bd1t.html
After a couple of hours refitting the gearbox so the engine didn't tear off its mounts on the way home, we got it loaded up.
Do 3 Isuzu landy's connected together constitute a road train??
An overnight stop next to the river at Gundagai gave us a break and some bonding time. I let the better half stay too as she cooks better than I do.
Now that everyone knows the plan, lets see how it evolves...
Expect progress to be slow for a start as I've got a small issue with a 130 that's blocking my driveway and garage

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
Looks good steve. May have some bits here you may be interested in for this project.
I wouldn't worry, at this rate you'll finish the 120" before I finish my County still!!
And my rangie! Would be two years or so now. Although I do have it running, just gotta sort the wiring, its like a damn p38 in there.
So Steve, how much are you going to extend the cab? When I mocked up mine, I went 9", then when I gave it to matt, he reduced it to I think 6, I found this two short for my gangly body.
Nice one Steve, you can never have too many Isuzu 110's.

Thanks guys !!
I'm always interested in your bits Damien....
Standard Isuzu engine bay - except its got lots of soot from the leaking dodgy turbo manifold:
Hmmm - Just added an extended "aircon" grille support to the parts list - gotta have somewhere to put the intercooler
Pretty naked inside, and there's a reason the doors were tied to the headboard of the tray for the trip home:

I'm thinking around 8-10" and really like the look of how bitdist's cab extension was done (see here ) which was 8" IIRC. Need to catch up with him and have a look at it in person before any final decision.
I'm not as gangly as yourself, and really only need an extra 40mm or so to get the same seating position as my County (which I'm quite happy with), but if I'm going to the trouble to do it then its going to get a decent size extension, and side window.
Decent A/C is on the build list too, but shouldn't be hard to achieve with only the cab to cool (compared to a wagon).

I would go to the trouble and extend the doors
Agree with matt, having that little wall beside you is a pain in the
