Great news, Tony. I would have loved to have come down with the others last week, but alas, it was not to be.
Cheers, Mick.
After many years of sitting under a tree with a damaged brake pipe (Reason why she got temporarily decommissioned), Rhonda the Series 3 88" has awoken from the dead thanks to some of the AULRO members.
Amazingly, one fuel line was replaced and she came back to life running sweet as the day she was rested.
The brake master cylinder appeared to have issues but one its throat was cleared it became very apparent the wheel cylinders, the flexible lines and a rear hub seal have seen better days.
She's now sitting on our workshop hoist awaiting new brake parts ordered late last week.
The plan is to get Rhonda up to scratch as my youngest daughter has shown a lot of interest and wants to take her on.
Rhonda will be cleaned up, re-trimmed and converted to a canvas roof.
The Lazy 2.25 petrol will continue to soldier on as appears to still be in very good shape.
We fitted a new distributor and had the SU carburetor properly tuned on a dyno only a year or so prior to when she last was used.
Not too many of the 88"s left in as good shape such as this one, so we need to take more care in future.![]()

It's good to hear another one is back on the road!
I knew the above "smiley" would be on.
My workshop is too messed up for picshowever, I believe pics were taken between her resting place and the work shop.
We have other series to revive too. Ranging from early series ones to 109 Series 111 (All originally purchased by our family with documents, photos and 16mm movies. All of them are now in sheds.
Would love to see a photo or two. My 73 88' is almost ready for registration after 7 years off the road and a complete rebuild.
Unfortunately we didn't take any pics before she was moved to after
Timj did I think thoughIt was a blast to see her hurtle down the paddock to the workshop

No hoses and incorrect master cylinder.
Master cylinder not an issue but lack of hoses is a road block.![]()
Still waiting on flexible hoses.
we have fitted all new slave cylinders, left rear hub seal and new left rear brake shoes. Drums back on and adjusted.
No pics from today as was covered in brake fluid and oil etc.
She has to come off the hoist tomorrow as we need it for the buggered Toyota's![]()
