I've got a double DIN stereo to fit which means HEVAC relocation plus some Alpine speakers for the front doors.

In addition, I've ordered bits to fab up a cold air intake to get this 5.0 breathing. From experience, this should yield both performance and fuel economy gains.

Also got a quote for a full twin 2.25 exhaust system but will get a second opinion. I can't wait for a new exhaust!!

Here is what I have make room for in the dash. It's a double din stereo that uses your smartphone as a screen. This way I can use my nav and OBD2 apps.

Here is my new addition for under the bonnet. New pipes and clamps etc for a cold air intake. Alloy and silicone.

And a small statement for the tailgate:

In regards to them issues with your windsor....do you have a coolant port in the back of the inlet manifold? It relieves coolant from the water packets in the rear of the head and circulates the coolant correctly....makes a massive difference

You know what, you're the second person to bring that up. I know that Ford did it with the modular V8 for that very reason. I'd imagine it would be a straight forward job, tap some 3/4 into each water port with a crossover hose in between.

I filled up the tank and took the family up to my brother's farm at Gunnedah last weekend. Bad news was that I had a hard EAS fault near home on the way back. Bumpy ride on the bump stops along the Hunter Expressway. Fortunately not far from home.

Good news is I obtained a 100km gain in my range just by changing to my custom cold air intake. I ended up getting 560km on mostly highway which is great so far. Also gives a nice growl too compared to the stock airbox.

I installed the new stereo too but the interior heat combined with the bumpy ride has buggered up the work I did to relocate the HEVAC.

Yea, later EFI windsors had the same port, its likely in your manifold, I did the mod, years back when I had a 302 windsor....come twin turboed....come 351.....then looked at the motor in my ED XR8 sprint at the time and went oh, look at that, haha

Made a huge difference to the cooling characteristics, you could watch on the temp gauge, I have a BB 460 here, I bought of the guy who told me about it near 15 years ago which it is done too....been doing it ever since

Glad to read you fitted a stroker kit....was thinking a stock 302 would be quite lacklustre, but 347 is a nice drivable thing....shame about the heads and piddly exhaust port size, but make nice torque

I couldn't stretch the budget for the 347 unfortunately. It was either the alloy dart heads or the 347. Hindsight says 347 and then heads but nevermind, I'll wait and see how I go. With the new heads it's a real healthy 302, much better than the stock irons.

Hey Pedro, the box is fed air from around the LH headlight. There's also a hole that leads from under the vehicle that feeds cool air. Much, much better than the original thor/td5 style airbox.

Wading through water etc is off limits for this baby now P38 HSE: Powered by Ford
