ARB compressor mounted on the tray tonight. After considering all the places I might put it on the tray seemed reasonable at least until I get an Ex Box and free up some space under the drivers seat. It will be hidden most of the time and the alloy box will be the mounting point for accessory power to the canopy via a neutrik plug

The plan is to clad it with 4mm composite aluminium board and have an aluminium checkerplate floor and roof. The cross bars on the top will be the side rails for the load space on top, the roof will be about 100mm lower.

Something different this morning, I wrapped the exhaust with Magma Wrap as a couple of others have done.
From the flexible connector back to the pipe joint:

And with the leftovers from the pipe join back towards the muffler. It does seem to make quite a difference to the temperature of the floor after a bit of a drive. I also bought some self adhesive heat shield that will go on the bottom of the ex box that I got for my Birthday (when it shows up.......)

Looks great - good work!
I hadn't noticed earlier that the spare wheels sit in a lowered section of the tray. How difficult will they be to get out and over the headboard side braces with the pod in place?

Difficult but not impossible :o I have checked how much space there is between the end of the pod and I can do it. All I need is for the Defender fairy to bring me a set of ZU wheels, that would make it easier, those wolf wheels are bloody heavy.

Some more progress on the pod. The roof will be checkerplate but I'm undecided on what to do the floor in. I'm thinking that 7mm plywood might be a bit more friendly to stuff being carried in there. Any opinions?

I am fitting out a canopy for my 130 at present, but I am really worried about having weight after the axle, I am trying to put all fuel water batteries as far forward as possible and I will put the tyres laying down on the floor rearward of the fuel.
I suggest moving your tyres and putting the pod further forward if possible.

The fridge, fuel and water will be at the front of the pod anyway, those tyres are bloody heavy and my tray is only about 1600 long so the overhang on the pod takes the tray length up to about 1800 which is still shorter than some 130 trays.
I'm not too worried about the remaining weight distribution given the 1300KG (excluding tray) capacity, why are you so concerned?

I agree with Ian about keeping weight forward as there's a bit if evidence suggesting that having longer overhang and weight aft of the axle contributes to chassis cracking issues.
But given that your spares total above 70kg I think having them up front is good weight distribution anyway and practical in that they stay with the vehicle if you take the pod off.
They are also permanent weight rather than fuel/water which is rarely full even on a long trip.
Personally I'm a bit physically challenged and couldn't live with getting them out over the headboard braces though. With your tray I'd probably remove those braces and put in a single center one and some form of carrier/ramp to get them on/off easier.
Also agree that your tray overhang isn't long in comparison to some.
