Yes no worries mate, was thinking of offering rock sliders too. Mine are shaped better to stop mud flinging up the side and was even planning to make a version that could be removed and made into a towing A frame. But been a bit busy making moulds! Let me know and I can make it happen.
    Cheers, Andrew.

For anyone interested I'll be going to Corowa this Saturday to have a look at the ex-mil swim in. lots of old Landies, Perenties etc. Look me up if you're there and want to check out the tank on my 130.

I'm a big fan of accessories that are multi-functional. Ten years ago when I did the Madigan Line with another six Landies, I made a side step/rock/slider that was convertible to a solid tow bar - not an 'A' frame but just a single 50mm SHS with universal type joints at each end to allow maximum articulation. Three of us had some form of solid tow bar each so that in an extreme emergency we could have linked four Landies together to recover any broken down vehicle - fortunately they were not required.

The reason I mention this is that I think an 'A' frame may be a bit too complex for such a recovery where there is more than likely someone available to steer the broken down vehicle and hence a solid bar would suffice.

With current legislation, anything that would be legal to tow on public roads would be extremely complex so I think the intended use for such a towing device as suggested needs to be very carefully considered and kept as simple as possible while still achieving the desired purpose, whether that be a road legal towing device or an emergency remote area recovery/towing device. Need to also consider how the towing device would be attached to the front of a vehicle.

    Thumbs up

I like the idea of the dual purpose side steps. When I was a kid my Dad had a solid tow that we used with the Series IIa LWB before winches were readily available. But there was always the problem of carrying it. The side step thing I think would be great.

And great work on the tanks! I am looking for a suitable 130 to purchase at present and this will be a great accessory to add when we do.

Thanks for the info, good points. a solid bar would be simple, but I have an idea to make the A frame simple also. How about a three way multi functional accessorie, you have two rock sliders anyway so either rig up for A frame or solid tow bar
