    Some kind of vacuum reservoir?

its not from the fuel filter (depending on version) its either from the charcoal canister and is a one way valve for the charcoal canister to purge through or it is the charcoal cansiter. (I cant see the pic)

Not the fuel filter, but the fuel filler neck. But yeah, charcoal canister seems to be the consensus.

I must sort these photos out!

Lots of progress over the past few days, still can't fix the photo sharing problem but here is a link to the album. I'll do a detailed write up later on.

We picked up a 1998 300TDI doner Disco from 2 minutes down the road. This truck has a blown head gasket but no rust (that we can see yet) and a lot of spare parts.

Coincidentally it is also the same colour and the previous owner had started doing a ute chop.

    A teaser update!

Progress is slow at the moment, we only get a Sunday and one evening a week to do work.

We have been painting and prepping the chassis and are half way through doing that.

We finally cut the arse off it too
