Lots of other projects and distractions about at the moment, but I took a bit of shed time today and have been picking up parts along the way.
A change to the rear is underway.

Picked up this and am looking for some input from the engine gurus amongst us.
The last bits I found in the sump, any ideas on their origins?

Thanks bee utey I was hoping to hear from you .
What’s your opinion on the cam lobe wear?
And given the lightness of the compression ratio stamp how much do you think it’s been decked?

Wouldn't expect it's had more than 5 thou off the block, those numbers aren't stamped very deeply. Engine number has obviously been restamped. Cam looks fine if you're just going to chuck it in and see how it runs.

Possibly chunks of a perished rocker cover gasket, chiselled out of the corners of the cover. The long bits were probably rescued before falling down the head drains.

You would better to just buy an army one rather than try to engineer it yourself. Unless you just want a lazy axle.
