    Custom Pole Free 270deg Awning

Today i received the roll of high-tech, breathable, waterproof PVA canvas from Europe for our all new 270deg awning.

This is exciting for us as the manufacturer did not want to sell to us but after long negotiations they sold us just enough to get this thing underway. local canvas would have been just to heavy when fully deployed.
The metal parts are at the laser cutter & folder & should be ready for pick up mid next week.

The awning is designed specifically for a 90, with 1.8m of cover from the side & also out the back of the tuck with no poles required except in high winds.

    Cheers

Awning is all ready to go to the canvas man & realised the there was no clearance for the sail track that holds the canvas to the awning frame.
I have just got the adjusted drawing back from my CAD man & its inline to be laser cut & folded, I hope I get it back before the weekend.

All the arms work very well even the ones that slide in & out.

    Cheers

Finaly got all the awning bits painted & ready to go for canvas this weekend.

The black section of the arms is an automotive wrinkle finish, very hard to work with on a large long surface, it needs to be so thick nearly have to get it to run to make it work. Powder coating may have been a simple way, next time.

All my work is now complete & I have to hand my baby over to another to complete the works.

Very happy with how its worked out so far, way more complex design than our RTT.

The awning is back from my canvas guy ( Cutting Edge Canvas on the Sunshine Coast ), it looks awesome.
I have only opened it out once to show him that I know what I'm doing, I'm super happy with it, we also got 2 walls made so we can get away from the wind during cooking time.
I still have a few things to complete on the RTT before all the pieces can be bolted to it & mounted on the truck then I can really test out the awning in the correct position or hight.

Awning is mounted on the passengers side of the truck & works as I designed it to.
We had 2 walls made up so that if the wind is blowing a treat we will still be able to cook a meal.
Tomorrows job is to mount the LED strips to the 3 main arms & wire the plug to the set up, the switch is also a dimmer so after cooking we can have some mood lighting with glass of red in hand.

    More images to came.

    Cheers
