Can we see some close up pics of the original side framework please.
Is it welded together or riveted? Hard to see from the pictures.

All riveted floor and walls. Harry had to rivet nearly all the wall and and put countersink sink screws in the floor. Most of the rivets had shared off.Quote:

Then I found the chassis so weak and drooping about 75mm from end to end I scrapped the idea.
What I did was keep the wall frames and build a new chassis, bought some aluminium to alter the frame and plan to rebuild from the ground up.
It's been sitting waiting for four years!

The chassis is in good nick. H has cleaned it all down and painted it, he did however rebuild the draw bar as the original was very short and when towing it home we had to be careful as the back of the 130 nearly hit the front as we turned corners.Quote:

Yes, short draw bars are a bit of a curse in old vans - had to do the same on the Franklin but it needed replacing anyway so no biggy. Not sure if I’ll do the same on the Viscount - it works ok behind the Hilux, will see how it is behind the 101.

This was when the old very short draw bar was taken off and a new longer one made.

As you see the wheel arches made life difficult to change the wheels, so some adjustment was done.

Is the side framework a combination of light zinc coated steel and aluminium?
The weight of it as a bare bones rolling chassis wouldn't be very much.
I assume it's the plywood interior that brings the weight up.
My parents had a similar sized Millard in the late 1960's, but it had wrap around corner windows.
