To all the 'pro' builders out there, see how the insulation should be done.
    Good job!

It doesn't seem a lot is happening, trust me a lot is happening just you can't see it but it will all come together soon.

We have completely refurbished all 7 windows, glass will be ordered this week. Depending on price we may get it toughened.

First windowed fitted temporarily for photo.

The front is on, we will be adding Checker Plate as it is badly dented.

All the small fiddly jobs take so much time - looks great, can't wait to see it. 😊👍

If you're ordering new glass - why not go acrylic instead? Half the weight, half the price and 8 times stronger than glass. The modern stuff is highly UV stable and will last for a lifetime - it doesn't fade or crack like the old perspex used to. You can also get it in a tint if you want. I'll be doing my the Viscount completely in it - used a few bits in the Franklin and it's brilliant.

Only downside is that is isn't anywhere near as scratch resistant as glass.

Not talking polycarbonate (lexan) here either - that is 200 times stronger than glass but isn't UV resistant.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

H has worked with Polycarbonate, Acrylic etc all his working life. He prefers glass.

He he, funny how that works - I worked with glass full time for several years and now I won't use it unless I have to. 😁 Oh, the blood that was let over the years... 😁

I'd imagine the original glass is 3mm - if you go with toughened the usual minimum thickness is 4mm - might cause a few issues with the glasing. 3mm toughened is available, but last time I checked (many moons ago) it was bloody expensive.

We are going to see the Glazier on Wednesday and have a chat to see which way we go.
