Has anybody put foot well vents into a 110, or have photos of it done? I believe the Perentie SRV has some sort of vent? Whenever I drive the FJ45 (or even the 240 GL Volvo!) I think how good would it be to have these in the Landy.

    Thank you,

To put them in the footwell you have to go through a double skin. It would be easier to put them in the door would it not?

You're right - but all 110s have door cards (except Perenties, which have door pockets).

    Foot Well Vent Update

The Expedition Centre in Sydney fitted a LHS vent to our 1994 200tdi Defender and we drove back to Alice Springs with it via Birdsville, Boulia and the Plenty Highway. We had it installed 'backwards', as per the NORFORCE Perenties that used to be based in Alice Springs. We thought that if installed that way it would suck hot air out rather than blow dust in. We needed to remove the Safari snorkel to fit it as the moulded plastic reaches quite low on the wing, we'll replace the Safari snorkel with an older Mantec version. As previously mentioned in this thread the installation required cutting through an external and internal panel, so a sleeve (?) had to be manufactured to bridge the gap between panels and provide an internal 'finish'.

We did over 1,000km on dirt, with some bull dust holes. Daily temperatures hovered around 45 degrees, so a good test. With no air conditioning passenger feet felt the same temperature as the rest of the body - a significant change. It even made a difference to the driver side temperature too. The vent does not suck in dust. Although some bull dust was visible on surfaces after we'd bounced through bull dust holes, the dust didn't 'boil' in as I might have expected. We'll be installing one on the driver side too.

    Hi Westie,

Thanks for that feedback mate. Interesting to hear that you installed it backwards.

Could you provide us with a picture or two Westie?
