how did you get the tube to bend???
Please tell......
That was the easy bit. I was not sure it would work but Mick had complete faith in his $100 tube bender. :p
All we did is marked up the length of 50x25x2 RHS into 5 equal sections then using the el cheapo tube bender gave each section the same amount of pumps on the bender until we had the right shape. It worked really well.
Sweet..... good Job Chappy's
How does the roof fit with the steel??
Hard to tell from the photos but did you bend it in both planes or just y?
Dave.
Roof fits ok would have liked to use original mounts but it was to weak. Just bent it in Y will drill holes in bottom of brace for the rivet gun head then 5mm holes for rivets and some sikaflex should hold it down and the rest of the screw mounts stay the same.

Day 13
The Final Build!!!
I did make it to the engineers yesterday huge thanks to Matty!!
He was pretty happy with my workmanship. He wanted me to add in another bit of RHS directly below the C pillar (pic 2) and a bit of plate inside the cab (pic 3) and that was it!!! :D
So here we go again.....

Wheels off this time as it wont go back to the engineer till it's finished!!!
http://www.lrocv.com.au/gallery/albu...E_Change_1.jpg
Change 1 - this will cover that hole and add more strength to the rear hoop....
http://www.lrocv.com.au/gallery/albu...lmost-done.jpg
Change 2 - vertical section of RHS will tie the C pillar into the rear outrigger instead of relying on just a bit of folded flat plate....
Ran out of gas at 4:30pm today so will get new bottle in the morning and finish of the cab. I am also using Sikaflex-252 along with 4.8mm steel rivets along with a small amount of welding to hole most of the cab together (if anyone cares)
