I have managed to get a few more things done in the past week. Nothing very exciting, but here are a few pics.
After thinking about buying new extractors for the Hippo I decided against it and instead bought a sand blasting kit. I cant believe I did not buy one of these ages ago, it is a fantastic tool. I hade the extractors and Y pipe cleaned up in no time. I then just gave them a quick spray with some Hi-temp enamel paint..

I also stripped out the rest of the engine bay and gave it a spray with some sound proofing spray. It's a bit hard to see in the pic, but it came up looking as good as new.

There was also a bit of rust in the drivers side footwell. Ok, more than a bit, there was a huge hole. Before I bought the Rangie, it had been sitting in someones front yard for 5 years without being driven. Water had leaked in and pooled just in this one spot.
I cleaned it all up with some rust converter and then welded and sikaflexed a sheet over the top. I also put another thin sheet on the otherside just to make it look a bit better.

It is finally starting to look like something!
Excellent!
have you decided on a colour yet??
Nice mate.
coming along nicely, well done :arms::arms:
That is going to be a beast! :D
Maybe. I am thinking a light but deep green color and all the barwork and tray in gloss black.
Here are a couple of example of colors. At the moment I am thinking the first one as I think the second one is a bit pearlescant and would show up scratched too much, I think it needs to be a fairly flat color.
If anyone has any suggestions, please put them up.
