I think I shall start being dangerous! I hope to make Michael proud.

Something just arrived from QLD! Well not the flanges I made those for my 300Tdi. Hope to see another turbo coming in for the TD5 soon.
Great stuff Keith! Glad to see someone else is having a go. Keep us posted.

Mine is still going strong. I've had the trailer behind it a couple of times and it seems to cope well.

Still haven't got round to finishing off my EGT install. Everything else is done but I haven't got round to welding in the exhaust bung.

    Cheers

His turbo has been fitted and we have been out bush a few time now i must say it hammers! Lights up 35 procomps on a dry road from a standing start!

    That's good to hear.

Mine is still going strong. I just serviced it again yesterday.

The only thing that has gone wrong is the injector loom (Bloody Oil!) it started dropping cylinders the other day and running rough. I installed a new loom and washed the harness connector in prepsol and all is good again.

    Cheers

He went from 32.5" tyres and bigger IC and 3" Exhaust and a custom fuel map to 35" and 4.11 diffs and the turbo so little hard to compare apples with apples and being an auto its was never all that bad to start with. But it does spool up much faster then the factory unit and as it hits peak boost one of the front wheels will spin (on road) from a standing start which is pretty cool!.
It can be a hand full off road when trying to crawl up very steep stuff just when you think you have the right spot on the throttle BANG full boost kicks in and wheels start to spin. So i think its going to take some getting used too. (i hate fly by wire )
The modded turbos can be wound up to 30PSI but i am not sure how much the TD5 engine will

I think a vnt turbo would suit a manual gearbox too a tea. another mates defender is a pita to drive when loaded up with a camper etc so he either needs an auto or a VNT :P

I'm running std turbo and 25psi. Seems to fine only done around 3000ks.

Will be upgrading turbo when the funds allow.
