    Defender Rear (Dual) A/C

I removed a dual AC unit from a Defender 110.

For those who would like to see what it looked like, with a view to copying it, I've posted photos here.

Michael, can I ask why you removed it?

The Defender (not mine) was being wrecked, the motor needed a bottom end rebuild and it was more suitable to replace it with another Defender.

This particular vehicle was one of the Australian Olympic Torch relay vehicles for the Tiwi Islands. After that it worked as a tour vehicle in the Northern Territory; before moving to NSW and then Vic. The unit worked well, and each AC could be operated seperately, with their own electronic boxes.

I had it on ebay for $1,200 last week, but no one bid. I'll get around to cleaning it and packing it ready to post, then relist it with a Buy It Now price, as well as all the weights and box dimesions, so people can work out the postage.

If that doesn't work, I'll try selling just the rear unit and maybe making an air compressor out of the pump.

I just hope that all the hard work in pulling it apart ends up helping someone with their project.

    Damn!
    I wish I'd seen it!
I had a Tax cheque to spend last week!
I would have loved to try to fit something like that to the 130!
    Oh well.
