actually you guys know anyone that can fix defender doors? only reason I ask is we got two doors for our 90....and they don't line up at all!! Ian reckons the holes on the door are in a different place compared to the doors we took off. I have asked him to try the old doors back on to confirm this and if it is the case will need to look at the frames in them being sorted as the bottoms had rotted out
We have some Defender doors you could bolt into the spot to see if that is the problem - loan only :D Defender doors are hard to come by. Please wait till we have finished this project first though.Quote:

This meant proof coating again, rubbing all panels back with 600 grit and respraying again. This took form 7.30am until about 1.30pm. We have waited almost 2 weeks for a non rainy day and it seemed we had one - only problem the wind was gusting at about 100kms per hour - not very conjucive to painting. I checked BOM and tomorrows forecast is for rain again, so the decision was made to paint some of the panels in a sheltered spot. The doors and some trim bits will have to wait. We painted the roof, windscreen frame, tub rear, both front guard wings and the right front guard

to Bundalene family & the Dog :D keep up th great work , I read in your thread that you're waiting for a rain free day to spray the panels so to speak , just as a suggestion if I may, have you thought about rigging up a temporary spray booth such as the one in the picture below , you can also leave a heater inside to quick dry the paint , not quite same effect as a proper spray booth , but I think you get the idea.

I'll have to give this painting a try, it gives the job a real professional look if done properly as you guys are doing.
I hope your other LRs don't have white or clear overspray as a result of having the bumbs to the wind
The others Land Rovers are far enough away I hope. You cant be too carefull with 2K paint products.

I had a sheeted off area section aside in our shed - especially for spray painting. This was great the first few times but found that without good forced ventillation, the whole area just floated in debris, every time I painted, leaving unwanted bits on the paint work. Cleaning the area was near impossible.
A sheeted off area as you have would work well for a few jobs, and then just dismantle it. For this job we are a bit time poor.
I have priced hiring a spray booth but this is quite expensive, especially in my case when I don't paint all at the same time.
