Maker of Hull is a bit of a mystery to me right now ... My bro has a very similar design from the same period ... just haven't lined them both up yet, to confirm, it's the same manufacturer

The transom has remnants of a outboard setup, from the plug mould ... that's what the side dark grey pads are hiding .... but it was setup as inboard from new

    Forget skiing ....
Trips such as, Maylands to freo, and then ocean side, down to Mandurah & then up the estuary, to South Yunderup // Fast, furious and flat out can be fun ... but cruising is better

Hey Mike, what is stamped into the back of the bearing slippers? std, 010,040 etc.

Looks like you may have 040 pistons there. Not sure how much further a Holden can go.

May be a good idea to get the con rod big ends closed and honed so all is nice an round with no run out. Wile it apart you can match the longer rods with the shorter pistons

Pistons are already 40thou over ... caaaaaaan get 60tho .. but not everyone's excited about doing that (max'ed)
Rod shells are 10tho dated 94

Sorta Yes & no.... Seen a set of heads for my motor with oversize valves, Machined to take roller rockers + have a Mild cam sitting in my back pocket doing nothing ....

Still weighing up my motor options / direction ... pulled the rest of the motor down, and lets just say that I found u-nudda nail in da coffin

Honestly .... how does someone stuff up a keyway

    .... more head scratching

the reason i ask, is that good 5l injected runners can be had under $1500 (on the east coast anyway), that would almost be less than an engine rebuild, and you would get smoother running.

Well ... Trying to find another Powerplant

So after much scouring through Clients / friends / Ebay and the local rag .... It came down to a little Jem of a find ....

So I loaded up the car with a trailer and a crane,

    and picked this up

    ..... A Fully recon 308 ....

It was rebuilt 5 years ago, Complete with the original receipt & documents, tucked away in someones shed and has never been installed ....

Which reminds me .... If someone needs parts or knowledge on 75 or 85hp Chrysler outboard motors .... Give us a shout as I've got 4 of them

    2 out of 3 ... 1 to go

Well ... Todays effort was fairly tough .....

Now before you begin to say .... The colour is called "White" .... You would be incorrect ....
..... It's actually "Izuzu" White .... ... Had to keep it relevant to "Land Rover" somehow

    Mmmmm ... Problem .....

How will I be plugging up those holes ????

Next on the shopping list is a set of Tandem axles with brakes ... as this is gonna weigh more than 750kg's .... The suspension that's on it is mush ... The frame work is in good nick, and the rollers need sorting out as they are not in the right place, and there is not enough of them ... But that's the cheap part ... It's the suspension thats costly ... right now, I'm scouring the papers & yards for a second hand suitable doner ....

    Anyone got some leads??
