You realise the train does have solar panels as well as those on the station?
And in lieu of all of that - what would you call it that would make it more accurate in your mind?
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

Id call it a hybrid as it has both electric and diesel engines.
I have seen it run without its diesel but im led to believe it uses it more than just the once a week backup check.
Not sure if you know the track but is basically a straight and level 3 k stretch. The train gets just enough of a push from the motor so that they can then shut the power off and coast most of the way. It takes 10 min to do just 3ks.
Is that impressive? Im sure to many it is and as i said im a hard one to please and definitely a sceptic of many things. Probably too many things.
Would be great if it actually went somewhere and was useful to commute on but to me its just a coal miner trying to look like he actually cares for the environment while building a mega resort that the locals didnt want. The train was to be a diesel at first with the option to one day be electric ...sorry solar ,but the resort faced opposition so fast tracked the idea.
I havnt been up to Byron for several months so i havnt seen how it is going but did read this...The novelty has worn off Byron's 'solar' train – Echonetdaily
Oh , buy the way my defender has a solar panel also.
We might need to agree to disagree on this one and thats totally fine with me.
