    I didnt think I'd ever see a Mikado for real... This thing makes 3801 look like a pussy cat...
    That a COM ENG plate,, Its a long way from home, built in Brisbane!

    DH was the class Pedro; diesel hydraulic designed and used mainly for shunting, however I do recall once seeing one on the Sandgate line with a set of red, wooden passenger cars.

    After some googling, it looks like a DL, however according to Wiki, none were built by ComEng. Further investigation is required.

    I am not sure any of the 4 different DL classes ran a 080 config,,
    in fact an 080 shunter is hard to track down..

    That was the only brass plaque on either,, all the engines were pretty well stripped.
    Apart from the cast number on the side if a very kind person had not written a board out I would never have guessed it was a Mikado...

    Seek and ye shall find.

    ComEng built this loco for Hornibrook Group Railway Contractors in 1961. It was used on the Mt Isa line rehabilitation until 1969, when it went to Pemberton.
