whoops..... posted in wrong area...! cant work out how to move it!
Hi guys, Ive been eyeing off an Evoque for a while now (second hand, spending around 50-60k).
I have also been looking at maybe saving a few bucks and getting a RRS 06-07 model for high 30s.
I know which one I would take off road, but 99% of my driving is done around town, so I cant really make offroad prowess a priority.
If i was to make $$ a priority, would it be a smart move to buy a 2007 RRS TDV6 with 130k on the clock? or is it a dollar trap?
Thanks,
Dekkar

If your a hairdresser get an Evoque if you are a real bloke get a RRS
REMLR 243
2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6
1977 FC 101
1976 Jaguar XJ12C
1973 Haflinger AP700
1971 Jaguar V12 E-Type Series 3 Roadster
1957 Series 1 88"
1957 Series 1 88" Station Wagon
When did the Sport get upgraded from hairdresser status?
Probably when Gordon (GGHaggis) and his contemporaries started showing what they were capable of doing off-road. Ha ha
Don't forget that Land Rover blessed us with a different Land Rover for each stage of our lives, so any choice is valid.....:
Personally I would go for the Sport. It gives you more options off-road, more room inside, a more powerful engine and a bit better visibility out the back.
I'd go with RR sport but which engine ???
I love the more economical 2.7l TDV6 but 3.6l TDV8 is a beast of an engine.
I agree with the hair dresser thing about the Evoques they do seems more feminine.
The 3.6 tdv8 in my FFRR is surprisingly economical if driven gently, even with the occasional boot full. It's particularly good on the HW. A RRS is not as heavy so should be even better. The 2.7 tdv6 is a nice power plant, so either would be fine. I think the tdv8 radiates more heat.
L322 tdv8 poverty pack - wow
Perentie 110 wagon ARN 49-107 (probably selling) turbo, p/steer, RFSV front axle/trutrack, HF, gullwing windows, double jerrys etc.
Perentie 110 wagon ARN 48-699 another project
Track Trailer ARN 200-117
REMLR # 137
Definitely TDV8 operates much hotter temp than the TDV6.
TDV8 thermostat housing will leak coolant when it gets old I've seen many of these and they are a headache to replace as you have to remove a lot of parts and reposition wires and connectors, but with the TDV6 the only part that may need replacing frequently is the coolant pump which is relatively easy.
