I think old Mate was just showing how easy it is to drive on the sand when the correct tyre pressures and gearing is selected
My D2a, Navara and 79 series glide over deep sand without the need to rev the guts out of them and destroy the track like these tossers at Inskip do.
Just imagine the damage these idiots do to the tracks on the island.

That's possibly one of the most irresponsible 4WD practices I've seen lately. What a moron.
Why not sit safely in the driver's seat? One slip, arm or leg goes under the back wheel,
instant serious injury. There's no place for show-ponies like this silly old fart anywhere, and
this sort of idiocy only helps the anti-4WD mob gain more ammunition as far as more closing
of off-road locations. And imagine if a little kid were to run out in front of him, with his foot
nowhere near the brake pedal. His rego should have been passed on to the ranger.

FWIW,apparently, doing something very similar killed Malcom Douglas

Although he didn't show off doing it,just did it on occasions, and eventually caught him out.
