As an ex mercedes tech-------G Wagons are frikin awesome. cant wait for the flood of ex defence g wagons to become available in RHD

We havent even got the 110,s too auction yet
the only x mil gwagens for the next 20 years or so will be rightoffs if they dont get returned to merc for replecment

I was at Woodside in '86 and we still had series III and 101's.. Mind you 16AD was a bit behind in new gear as we also had Bren's and F1's. We also had the acco trucks and a few mogs
Most likely saw my first Perenties in '88/89 and was issued a 6x6 workshop model in '91
I feel old

I did training with Brens in 1981: still stamped with the old Union Defence Force crown of arms. Chambered for 7.62x51 NATO, not .303.
Bloody Brens we had were stuffed, after some live firing we had firing pins break and all types of havoc.
I still remember being LMG #1 and doing section F&M live fire training with that heavy sodding Bren. Up the hill to give covering fire, with the hot magazines down my battle dress shirt 'cos there wasn't time to shove the empties in a mag pouch......and my R4 on my back AS WELL. Bleeding heck.
In 1986 some of our unit also still had FN FALs.
