Bring it on in Oz. Loved my Lada when I had one but the ownership experience was ruined by a short sighted and ignorant community - including the fourby media - and Oz mechanics of the day who didn't understand constant four wheel drive, transmission rubber couplings and independent coil front ends.

My son had a Lada, and was reasonably happy with it, but the two doors saw it go when the first baby arrived.

But I can't see them as a Defender alternative for anything except possibly the Ninety - which are very rare in Australia! They simply do not have the carrying or towing capacity.
