The three-door Range Rover Evoque has been removed from the UK range ahead of the next-generation car's introduction."From the 2019 model year, Land Rover has rationalised its Range Rover Evoque body style offering to concentrate on the five-door model and convertible, which account for the majority of sales," a Land Rover spokesperson told Autocar.Sources have told the British magazine the five-door version accounts for around 95 per cent of Evoque sales. Interestingly, the convertible outsells the more practical three-door variant. This latest news likely means there will be no three-door version of the next-gen Evoque, although this has yet to be officially confirmed. Given buyers are largely abandoning three-door cars in favour of five-door models, it seems logical only one body style will be offered. The next-generation Evoque is expected to debut next year, and was spied in five-door form at the beginning of the year. It's understood a new convertible will be launched in 2020.Although the next Evoque will have a Velar-inspired body, it will ride on an updated version of today's 'D8' platform, meaning it will share a lot with the recently introduced Jaguar E-Pace.Power is likely to come from a selection of turbocharged four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, as well as a plug-in hybrid drivetrain further down the track.Australia

The Evoque three-door was discontinued at the end of the 2016 model year in Australia, so the changes have no impact on the local line-up.MORE: Evoque news, reviews, comparisons and videoMORE: Everything Range Rover
