I dont know of any mechanics up your way, but I do know of a great little private mechanic down Tangambalanga way
Can't promise I'll return,, ahh, oops, I mean,, I can't promise that person will return it though
What a great looking little buy, so jealous,, I will have to pull my finger out if I'm to have one in my stable I think.
Cheers Chops

I just bought a 1953 series one 80in, one of the last 3 dozen made afaik.
36662206.
It runs fairly roughly , not for long, but has original engine and gearbox (hard to get into reverse)with a normal filter on top of carb, not a big oil bath vertical filter.

Hope it’s here
It looks to be reasonably complete, and remarkably straight for an unrestored 80"!

It’s not to bad so far, seats are as expected stuffed but frames are there, probably just get exmoor.
two questions for those with a lot more knowledge than me
1:do 86in door tops fit an 80
2:also how do I find it’s history, bloke I bought it off near Dubbo was given it for payment for a job 30+ years ago.
just bought a pretty rough S1 project, not sure exactly how I feel about it yet because I still have an incomplete IIA project.... but the price was right.
Haven't seen it in the flesh yet and I don't know much about S1s at all, nor did the seller. Anyone ID what year this is?
Got the dreaded holden 149 conversion which I'll be getting rid of. Thinking about a S3 driveline maybe? Is this heresy?

Plan for right now is go pick it up then it will have to go into storage for a little bit as I don't have any room for it right now.
Cheers,
Adam
I must have missed these questions - sorry!
1. No. Even 80" door tops varied.
2. With great difficulty! Sounds likely your seller got it from the family of the original owner, seeing it was rural, who was probably deceased, but after thirty years even this link is likely to be broken. Someone on here has some of the NSW records, and the British Motor Heritage centre in the UK has most dispatch records from this period - but all this is likely to do is to confirm whether it was sent to Australia.
