Melbourne URGENT HELP wanted with installing wiring loom!

probably not the time to ask but....

if you get a chance I could do with a copy of the wiring legend etc
that came with your loom (mine came sans 'guide'!)
(unless someone has a good clear readable one they coud send me?? please??)

No Problem!

PM me your email address and I will make a scan of the diagrams etc. Is it OK if I do this Saturday or Sunday, my papers are with the car at the moment.

I will host them somewhere and link them to here for other readers as well.

There is of course the workshop manual scan (pdf) that can be found. However, I do agree that the colour coding is not always clearly legible in it. I do have an original book and will make some good scans from there.

Hi all,

Everyone.... thank you so much for the posts, PMs and help. Last Sunday was a nice sunny day which we spent in the shed putting in the last of the loom.

I have to thank Slug_Burner, 260AC, and last but not least Walster for helping me out.

Especially Walster was kind enough to spent almost the whole day with me and he showed in-depth knowledge and a perfectionist approach I much appreciated and admire.

In fact, I feel a bit ashamed, guilty and a bit of a looser now, standing mostly on the sidelines and assisting where I could. :( But I learned a lot :)

This coming Saturday I will make the final preparations for the engine to be put back in. I will then also take some time to make pictures of the newly fitted loom. This will hopefully assist others in the future.

I know what you mean, Kris. :) I'm a mechanical novice too, but as you say, with the help of other kind souls, we less knowledgeable ones learn stuff too - and hopefully, we might be able to pass that on to some new green fanatic (as we were) down the track - what comes around goes around. :)

and thats the nuts and bolts of the landrover ethos and the main reason I do what I do.

Knowledge is like a foot print, if you know the way and you go there leaving your foot prints behind you others will follow encouraged by the fact that someone has been this way before so it must be achievable. Later people who follow may never see or know the person who left the first track but the knowledge is still there.
