went to fourfold.org to identify vehicles and despite one being a 8-digit, & one being a 9-digit, fourfold say both are 1955 series 1...
happy to hear of other sites/info to assist vehicle identification.

Yeah, I was a little confused when a mention was made that one of them was a Series 11a. Thanks Carolyn!!:):)
177600739
appears to be a CKD RHD 1956
the other number is not a chassis number:)

I will wake up those shortly who are the series 1's encyclopedia of knowledge:D

G'day Nostromo :)
Two very nice purchases, both appear to be 80 inch models, post 1950,the first one (brown) is a 50/51(in May 50 headlights 7" through grille,parkers/sidelights on firewall,May 51 sidelights moved to guards) model with the headhights surrounded by the grille is quite rare now, and also the first model to have the parkers in the guards and exterior door handles51/52,the other one(green) is later, as it has the classic series 1/2/2a grille, they should both have sloping rear of door edges, but, if one has square rear edges then it is an 86 inch model, the original early motor was a 1595cc unit which was replaced in August 51by a 1997cc unit(2 litre siamese bore) both motors being side/overhead valve configeration, post Oct 1953 the motor was improved with the 2ltre "spread-bore" which stayed in production until the 2.25 ltre OHV of 1958/9 series 2 models.
Hope that is of help to you
cheers
They don't look like 80" to me. More likely 86"
