    Series Graveyard

Hi, I was trundling down a country road near where I live recently
in my Freelander and cam across a vehicle graveyard. Lot's of
stuff, but I thought I saw some Land Rovers poking out there. So,
I hopped the fence with my camera. Not a Series export, but drove
some Series 2's when I was in the army in '72. THink these are 1s
    and 2s.

The 1st is a 2, the 2nd a 1 and the 3rd seems to have lights in the middle
and the fenders so not sure about that one.

The second grey one could be worth checking out because it is an early 2

If it is a 1958 with the 2 litre engine it is very rare and collectable. Only a handfull exist in Australia

They are rarer than a 48

    Cheers Richard

    Good spotting!

The first is a late IIA (69-71)
The second as mentioned by Richard is not a series 1 but a SII (58-61).
The 3rd looks like a 61-67 IIA (wipers in screen)

How do you tell if it's an early series 2/ 2litre engine?
Last year I sold a registered series 2 to a family friend, and from memory the last 4 chassis numbers were 0013? Could this thing be an early one?

The 2 litre is a left over from S1 days and is side valve, whereas all later engines were OHV

OK so the 58-61 is this sucker - looks OK from the outside, but the shot I
took in the window is a real mess.

And what the *** is a WW2 CMP - OK so I did a bit of my own checking
and found nearly a million of these were produced in Canada during WW2.
