why would they not fit on an 80
Ah! Should have got the Anti-christ tonight but I delayed delivery due to the storms.
Pics tomorrow?!
Hi,
This is my first post so please bare with me!
I have a '58 very early series 2, I believe the 142nd short wheel base off the production line. It is a hard top ute, and I have the old canvas hood which is too rotten to go on but could be used as a template.
The car is fitted with a V8 SD1 motor and runs through the standard 4 speed box with a fairey over drive attached.
It was running until the clutch master cylinder failed a year or so ago. I changed the master cylinder but never got round to bleeding it as I could work out how to get under the floor to the slave cylinder.
I am looking for a home for the car and am open to offers.
The car needs a bulk head, and I have one which is as good as new, no rust and kept under cover sitting next to the car.
I also have a spare transfer box housing with specially machined gearing to increase the high ratio by 23%, this will allow the removal of the (weak point ) overdrive or mean that it can be run in line to up the gearing even more, if the box will take it. This will fit the early series box I'm told, I bought it of a guy that made them in the UK about 10 shears ago and fitted one to a diesel series 2 ute and towed a heavy trailer and he said he had no issues.
The chasis needs a rear 1/4 welded on, or start with a new chasis, a few other bits and bobs to go with it, bonnet, window frame and glass etc etc
Cheers,
Marcus
