But if I do that I cant afford to get bits for my cars!!
I looked at a 49 built 50 the other day (firewall lights etc) still
straight as a die, on a farm, has no windscreen, fuel tank leaks and unusable and tailgate replaced with a wooden planked one! (actually looks good, uses hinges made to look same etc and still has the horns and chains on it!) had short truckcab, but no doortops..
Belonged to his g/father, still runs and he wont sell, reckons he wants to keep using it for the kids to drive on the farm!!!... I have offered a running/registerable S3 109 hardtop 6cyl in exchange even offered to put new wiring loom through but he wont budge.... Looks like his kids will be driving around in it in the paddocks and around the shearing sheds etc...
(I am still checking but I may have a spare suitable tank and windscreen but am not sure want to part with them! will keep talking to him about it-- they are nice people and I dont think will trash it for no reason etc..)
Didnt get the numbers... dated via radiator/generator and grille (lights thru grille model) and I take their word that it is as it has always been since g/dad had it... apparently he didnt like the talgate and swapped it fairly early, they cannot locate the metal one..
Just looked at a 86" & a 107" just over and hour from Perth.
The 86" is just a shell but the 107 is about 95% complete and in pretty good nick.
Both had great bulkheads and chassis as they came from station country.
And i just found an 80" + 86".
Plenty of Series 1's in WA.
There is a guy here in Perth-ish that has alot of dismantled 80" units.
Will you pay freight?
