Hi Digger
Yes Mike B and his friend Ian , have manufactured a few 80 tubs and other bits like early 80 hoop stick sets . Made to a high standard . I think a forum member here has bought one of the tubs .

to make the tub you just need the material, dimensions and a sheet metal bender that can take the dimensions required. Can't recall if you need the spot welder.
Yes Mike B had the ability at Geelong road to do it but that location is now a set on units.
i wonder how much the materials would cost i have never looked into it. i dont have the machine to make it anyway but i am interested in the material cost. has anyone on here made any panels?
Hello, not sure if you already have your answer but if it is a 1953 then the guards are different to other years, these are spot welded together and have a park light section, I gave up and had mine repaired as I could not find any in Australia but could get them from the UK, 6 months waiting list, I think about $1000 each plus freight,
Malcolm

hehe - can't really blame him - there is no door to that shed! It gets a bit chilly... but, yes, I have seen his workshop and the various dies and bits he has made for the work - and, of course, I have seen the finished product on his 1948 S1...
Time wise, he tells me that, if he didn't have a job to go to, he could knock up a tub in a week - including spot-welding all the appropriate bits together.
Why did I dragged this thread kicking and screaming back into the light of day?
I want to repair the fire wall and make a few other parts for my series one collection, using copies of the original blueprints.
Some time ago I did read that the collection of those blueprints were kept here in Australia, in turn were scanned onto a CD and then it was taken back to the UK.
What is the chance of obtaining a copy of that CD and does anyone know anything about it or is it all hush stuff?
