						SupporterHey guys, my generator is buggered on my 52 80in. Do I rebuild or are there cheap ones out there? I have very good auto electricians that work on my plant and equipment that will look at it, but no idea on cost..any ideas?

						There is an alternator that looks just like a generator.
You'll have to get it from England though.
(And convert to -ve earth)
Of course you may wish to stay 100% original on which case rebuild.
I recently rebuilt the dynamo on our 2a. Cleaned up control box contacts and adjusted as per specs. This Lucas guide on the below link is gold;

Print it out and take it with you to your auto sparky. They will love you for it.
You can get an alternator 65amp off EBay for $140_160.
Possibly cheaper than rebuilding old unit that only put out 22Amps new.
If it only needs a bearing, bush and brushes these can be had for $30 but often when bearings fail the armiture flogs out.
The pulleys seem scarce so keep it.
The UK lookalike updates are around $700 plus post
