Remember that Borumbah is wired negative earth not positive as is usual.
This means that the negative on the coil goes to the dizzy.
Sounds more like a condenser problem but you will get it sorted.
That electronic fuel pump will only work with negative earth so dont let them swap it over.

    Dave found

Dave found the dizzy had come lose and was wobbling around and this had pulled the joiner apart almost on the neg wire from the coil to the dizzy. I plugged this joiner back together and got a start then limped into Daves shed . I think this killed the first coil. Dave gave me a coil of unknown origin or voltage and it started up and ran for 20ks but then also overheated and failed. This one could have been wrong voltage or even faulty when it was removed. As Dave says he doesn't throw anything away LOL. I called the sparky this morning and will be there when he opens up.

Just pulled into Kimba should make Ceduna. All electrics checked out ok it was just a dud coil. Did another oil change using 20w50 this time and changed the plugs as well. Running well sitting on 85 now easy.

I like the way your Landy is looking after you, it made sure it's little problems were fixed before you got away from good help.

I reckon that you two will get on fine from here on.

    Ceduna

Made it to Ceduna and hot a cabin for the night. The trick is running great loves the cold air and the new coil isn't getting hot any more could be the exhaust manifold transferring heat at low speeds anyway its working fine and I have a spare just in case. That's. 460 K's in an afternoon from Port Augusta to Ceduna didn't get away till after 1.00 pm. I went to the wreckers to pick up a cheap coil for a spare but all the cars were to modern and had resistor coils but I did find another Series 1 shorty down the back with some good hood bits for a soft top.just enough to make a bikini roof for the 109. Heading West across the Eyre Peninsula in the evening you chase the sunset and it lasts for ages. See the pic.
I have to pass through the WA border Gestapo on the morning so I will head to the car wash here first and do a bit of degreasing . It seems to be leaking less oil since I tightened the banjo bolt behind the head is there another banjo bolt at the other end of that oil line? The plugs I changed were not oily in fact they were pinky brown and looked like it was running a bit lean if anything. I am so relieved that its running well tomorrow I cross the Nullabor plain and after that its all downhill to Perth .

It's amazing it played up with all that company around I think it just wanted go hang around And catch up with a few old mates . Coming from one stable of Landrovers at Keith's place it must have felt at home at Daves . Could I have the storyline here for a children's book. Boorambah the lonely Landrover!!!!!!

How comfortable are the seats? I suppose the air con is working well at this time of the year, but don't worry the heater will be good in the summer. Hope your not getting all this rain. Wish I knew how klonk made his way over here from Brisbane.
    Epic trip

    Cheers Steve
