Gus dropped in for short stay this arvo
sent him off with a couple of fuel drums and fresh water, not in the same drums,
to help him across to W.A.
he is heading north via Pt Aug on the way to the Eyre Pen.
he has enjoyed his 3 or 4 weeks so far in S.A.

Well, finally, Gus is on the road. Today he had a wet start as its been raining for most of the day. He called into work to say bye.. He's left the Barossa with a new piece of cooking equipment... His 'Plough Disk Wok'!!!! Something I've made a few of.. His had adapted handles so it will sit in the center of the bonnet mounted spare wheel.
The rain was to be his undoing.. The Series wiper motor packing up just nth of Gawler.. After a rtn to my shed and a rebuild of the motor, he was on his way again.... Wilmington bound I believe... (The wiper motor packed up again!!). Not sure if he has forum access when he's mobile, but if I hear how he's doing, I'll add it here until he gets further west.. Tombie.. Think he's inbound!! :D
I believe that Gus made it to "Tombieville".
I wonder if he may become Tombies international campaign manager?.
As to the plough disk bbqs,
I have a couple, a small (standard one) with scollaped edges
and a MONSTER ONE made the same but much bigger!
They have been 'plugged' in the centre square with metal, this has a hole drilled in the centre for oil to dribble on the fire.
Then I have a tent peg that plugs that hole and has a 4 finned plates shaped to the plate-- this helps divide cooking food and keep the oil in.. a great addition. They are the best BBQ woks ever!
Caught up with Gus down the foreshore, then headed to the Pub for quote "A pint of anything" (Pale Ale) :D
Gus was then offered lodgings at Casa De Tombie for the night.
A home made soup, garlic bread and roast pork offering by Mrs Tombie..
He also got to meet the Dogs...

Hi all. Thanks again for the hospitality. I have made it across the Nullarbor, and arrive in Esperance. Having a look around today, then hoping to head toward Albany in the morning.

Well on Tuesday evening a grey and blue landy pulled up outside our house and a smiling Gus emerged.
Introductions performed and the 107 was parked outside the shed for the night.
After tea and a chat, we made a bolt for the shed and emerged in the small hours of the morning, hit the sack about 1.30 am:o.
Had organised Wednesday as a day off work;), So we did a tikky tour around town including the ANZAC memorial on Mount Clarance which has good veiws over King George sound and town.
Gus had had trouble with the distributor points on the landy and we tried to find some new ones but couldnt match them. (DM2 dist). Bosch CL15 as cross referanced from here didnt match and tried two others from the shop recomendations but no joy.
Then we called into another landy mate for a chat and later in the evening went to the police citizens and youth club where I teach kids to shoot on the 10mtr air rifle range, a good day was had and went to bed abit earlier at 12.30am.
Thursday Gus headed west, up to Margaret river for a surf. It started to rain again and his wiper still wasnt working.

Scallops has been working on his carburetor and it is applicable to that acceleration hesitation with that accelerator pump spring on your 107.
Hope the trip is going well and where about's are you now?
