I must wander over to my #umpteen dozen project which is a 1957-8 SWB series one to see what spring hanger plates that has on it, I'm pretty sure all the Series Ones had threaded shocker mounts on the spring plates.
The split pins can be a bother to get back in when fitting new rubbers, but are easy to do if you make an adapter, get a decent sized 'G' cramp and make your self a bit of cut off 3/4"?? pipe with a slot cut across it, clamp that adapter against the washer and side the split pin through, - see it's easy now what was I saying?
This is the tool that I made many years ago, just a short length of water pipe, with a hole drilled through, cut down to the hole using a hacksaw, big G cramp and bob's your uncle
