Tiny bit excited

1. not a good day today, was going to bolt up pass side floor plate only to realise the other bits in the centre need to go on first, so off they came again. then took the p/s wheel off, of the remaining wing to bolt up into position. not much to see other then the pass side mudguard is now on proper. sorted out some bolts that were kinda missing esp the two that hold the gear stick into the gearbox - sorted. still need to sort out the gap for the top hat. find some nuts for the gearbox. tighten up the prop and tail shafts proper. (did i mention) just hate getting under the car.

On a positive I have reached 60k views, WOW [biggrin]

1. Ok so finally got under the car and did up all the bolts for the propshaft and tailshaft - another job done today. slow progress but its still progress to some degree

Been a bit slack of late, other things like life gets in the way sometimes anyway tiny bit of progress today. got sick of looking thru the floor so the floor panels were next. i did loosen up the gap between the top hat and the fingers on the pressure plate as well. clutch feels really good so please i didn't have to remove the box to adjust.

1. so on went the floor on pass side, AFTER first fitting the middle section.

2. then onto the driver side, not bolted as i still need to bolt up the cross link shaft between the clutch/pedal. yellow knob in but not the red knob. nice to finish it off with these new knobs to complete the look inside.

its kinda done now except the brakes which will be next (last item) to do which will take time to adjust and bleed properly. pass rear seemed not to flow brake fluid like the other 3 wheels so will need a closer inspection.

With this damn lock down made some changes - had to move out my box trailer to parents house, before doing that had to move the camper trailer (Tvan) out of the way which was blocking the S1 in the garage of my parents place, walked the box trailer over, pushed the tvan out of the driveway, started the old girl up and drove her in first gear (literally crossing the road) with no brakes son on standby with a brick (just in case), then up my driveway and into my garage where it belongs out of the weather (parents garage was an open garage) so leaves would collect in the old girl. last day or two have been giving her a good old clean including the seats which had mould (double vinegar) did the trick to clean her up. now in my spare time can get to those brakes which need bleeding and adjusting.

S1 nestled inside now next to my LR flag.

clutch when releasing makes a strange noise not sure what this is, any help appreciated, no other noises and clutch engages and disengages well, everything works as it should but does sound weird when clutch is releasing for some strange reason.

Rusty flywheel?

Could be a dry spigot bush , did you lubricate it .

rusty flywheel - maybe not as i did clean the surface up before fitting - if this was the case hoping it will go away with time/use ?
spigot - oops, don't recall lubricating the spigot, again with time could this go away with wear of the spigot ?

1-3. had some dirty wheels that looked average and wanted to clean them up, so I used wd40, rags and a lot of scrubbing but looks really good now including the spare. pic 1 is the before shot, pics 2-3 same wheel cleaned up. love the look of the big fat tyres on the S1.

If the spigot is dry , it won't go away . Sintered Bronze Spigot Bushes you need to place it on your thumb & fill the hole with oil then squeeze the oil using your other thumb until the oil starts oozing out the paws on the out side of the bush before fitting it . Other than that , put it in a container of oil for a few days so oil will penetrate the paws before fitting. If the input shaft is running in a dry bush it will eventually wear the bush or seize .

1950landy - one word, bugger [bigwhistle]

1. anyway wanted to clean up the tray/tub a little so needed some alum 1.6mm, original was 2mm to cover these holes up, sides are ok just the tops needed some attention

2. alum cut to size 1200mm x 30mm did the trick

3. these cappings on the front needed to come off to slide the new piece into position - what a job next was to remove the hood

4. the entire hood came off which is a small job in itself

5. new piece in position, dry of course to see how it all fits in there

6. silicone time, happened to have two tubes of new silicone, used one tube per side. very clean look no rivets or screws to be seen anywhere

7. final job, both sides done. needs a quick wipe down then paint - new tops completed and hides those horrible holes.
