1-2 seat bases required more staples then i had, so off to bunnings to purchase more staples and finish off the seat bases, pic as installed. Another step closer to the end.

Yeah the rains have slowed me right down as i cant seem to do anything and no motivation to go out in the cold either. Got a sneak peek of my new double garage, cant wait. Seems like we may be getting our key some time next week so definitely looking to move asap. no rush to move the LR in yet still need to sort out cabinets for tools, and bringing across all my tools, sorting out what goes where.... but looking forward to it all.

hi all
Well i have been dying to get back into the S1 and tyres are on the agenda again. Love the look of the bigger tyres on a S1 though not very practical. I have been searching for some sunraysia wheels with 165.1mm PCD to suit the S1 and came across some tyres x2 very cheap in a 33 x 12.50 x R15 and was wondering whether this would fit the arches of the S1. I want something different other then the 750x16. I have a mismatch of bald tyres ranging from 700, 600 and a wider tyre at the moment that all need replacing. What are your thoughts please. Much difference in the sunraysia 15 or 16 inch rims? open to ideas of fitting hub or wheel spacers to make the bigger tyres fit though understand not legal for rego. thanks

When fitting wider tyres to Series vehicles, you need to bear in mind that the wider the tyre, the heavier the steering, and the more kickback you can expect on rough ground. When Rover fitted 8" tyres on the One Ton, they fitted a slower geared steering box, although NAS Series 2-3 had wider tyres, as did the Game.
The other issue, is if you fit wider tyres, with an offset that allows you to do without flares on the mudguards (which the Game has) you have to ajust the steering stops to stop the tyre hitting the springs, giving an increased turning circle - already nothing to write home about, especially on the lwb.

12.50 is ridiculous on a Series 1 - which has a smaller track than the S2, and narrower mudguards. If the tyres are legally inside the mudguards, you will have an extremely large turning circle, even on a swb.

LR already done it
